ANALYSIS OF VOTING BEHAVIOR IN PUNJAB\'S ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS, 2017

Abstract

There are two primary parts to this essay. Before moving to an analysis of more recent elections leading up to the 2017 Punjab Assembly Election, the first part gives a historical review of Punjab Assembly elections since it was reorganized in 1967 with a view to assessing the continuities and discontinuities in election results. Understanding voter characteristics, behavior, and decision-making processes in the 2017 election is the main emphasis of the second segment. In order to take into account the changing voting preferences of different kinds of voters in Punjab and to evaluate the effectiveness of different parties and their leaders, Lokniti-CSDS gathered post-poll survey data based on answers to many important questions. The article makes the case that with the emergence of new players like the AAP, the rising significance of social media, and the increased voter preference for development problems that directly affect Punjabis\' daily lives, the election process and politics have experienced fundamental transformation.

STUDY ON GOVERNMENT SCHEMES OF TELANGANA STATE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF OBC

Abstract

The rise of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the political arena since the mid-1980s has been heralded as India’s “silent revolution”. This political ascendancy has also been viewed as representing a large enough flux in the traditional hierarchies of the caste system, such that we now have “a plethora of assertive caste identities articulate alternative hierarchies” leading to a scenario where “there is hardly any unanimity on ranking between jatis”. Indeed, there is no doubt, especially since the 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments in the early 1990s, that the so-called lower castes have become an important force in Indian politics at all levels - local, state and national. Employing a difference-in-differences strategy and analyzing individuals born between 1926-1985, we find convergence in primary and secondary education, but continued divergence in higher education. Younger cohorts of OBCs converge with upper castes in wages and white-collar jobs. The extension of affirmative action increases the share of OBCs with government jobs and secondary education, though increased political representation does not seem to be correlated with better outcomes.

As a substitute, a qualitative research has been conducted to thoroughly analyze customer behavior and opinions since it would enable respondents to speak freely. To accomplish the goals, findings from primary research have been compared to those from secondary sources. According to research, young people, or generation Y, who are the new face of the country and are undergoing a behavioral change and a cultural adaption to the west, are expected to be the main drivers of supermarkets. A CONCENTRATION ON THE IN-CULTIVATION OF CHRISTIANITY IN INDIA

Abstract

This essay focuses on the idea of materiality or material culture, including vernacular architecture, religious artifacts, religious performances, and displays used in religious rituals, as well as their symbolic significance and how materiality plays a crucial role in the process of assimilating Christianity in India. These religious cultural \"things\" are more than just ornaments that are preserved for the sake of tradition; rather, they are viewed as both a practical means of expressing one\'s religious convictions and as a tangible example of a culture\'s attempt to accept a different religion. The dialectic between subjectivity and objectivity in the construction of the meanings and significances of things is intended to be shown through the connection of objects to value systems, cosmologies, beliefs, and emotions, and more generally to personal and societal identities. The discussion then shifts to the way that objects and their meanings change in relation to performative context and temporal concerns (Tilley 2006: 4-5). FINANCIAL PROGRESS AND ECONOMIC PROGRESS IN INDIAN A REVIEW

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to look at the connection between FE (financial development) and economic growth in the Indian states. In order to achieve this goal, three panel data sets are used: (i) data on BIMAARU states, which consists of five states; (ii) data on nine other Indian States; and (iii) data on a full sample of fourteen states, which includes both the BIMAARU states and the nine other Indian states. The yearly statistics on Net State Domestic Product and Total Commercial Bank Credit Outstanding in different sectors from 1981 to 2002 were utilized in this research. The data were gathered from various publications of the Reserve Bank of India and the Central Statistical Organization. The panel cointegration findings support the existence of a long-term link between growth and financial development across Indian states.
