Abstract

According to the pre historic cultural resources the Andhra Pradesh geographically divided into three major chunks they are namely KosthaRayalasima and Telangana. After the separation of Telangana, the costal and Rayalasima both have been taking dynamic role in making Andhra Pradesh stronger in all the aspects. Both the zones of Rayalsima and Telangana have varied with respect to geographical and cultural perspectives. Majorly, one can easily trace out the uniqueness in both the parts of Andhra in the language and food habits. This paper majorly focuses on the one of the cultural aspects of living conditions in the society with reference to a song from the film titled AravndaSametha. The song lyrics is composed by RamaogayyaSastri and sung by Kala bairava. This movie showcases the life style of Rayalasima region people. Though there are many other Toly-wood movies with the concept narrating of Rayalasima life style like Anthapuram, I have limited my view point with only one movie that is AravndaSametha. In this paper, I have focused and studied the life style of Rayalasimapeople completely. The total song narrates how a wife craves for the arrival of her husband by the evening as the husband involves in faction rivalries. Hence, I have focused on the factionism, how the faction people get involved in fighting and how they quarrel among themselves with the revenge and how they end their lives. All these views I have shared in this paper by exemplifying a song from AravndaSametha. This paper also throws light on the tragic life of the typical Rayalasimawoman as portrayed in the song. I have limited my research with only one song from the above said movie and there is a huge scope and broader views can be thrown in to light if one can extend the study in this area.

RABINDRANATH TAGORE’S UNIVERSALITY AS A POET-SEER AND HIS RELEVANCE IN MODERN TIME

Abstract

Rabindranath Tagore represents the millennium in him reflecting the ancient Indian wisdom through the raptures of his lyrics and mystic vision. His metaphysical bent of mind was quite rooted to the realities of his time inasmuch as he served as an anchor of intellectual moorings upon which the emerging nation state was to set foot on to shape a new course of journey. As a liberal humanist he advocated for Inclusive nationalism. Though the English translation of his poems and other literary works lost the vitality of language, the melodious rhyming quality, lyrical beauty and the word-magic but the power of his vision continues to be a source of great inspiration for whoever reads them. This paper is attempted to illumine on Tagore\'s universality and his poems relevance in modern time when the world is still reeling under indeterminacy of post modern fluidity that continues to witness global terrorism, religious hatred, racism, corruption and discrimination of various sorts. Hence, it is worth that the myriad minded man, \'the East of Suez\', may be reviewed afresh for his universality and relevance ever. The whole life of Tagore just evokes a sense that a Himalayan saint in previous birth, incomplete in his search of truth, is sent back by God to complete his journey through poetic vision.

J.K.Rowling‘s “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” lets us dwell into the magical world she created. Joanne Kathleen Rowling writing under the pen names J.K.Rowling and Robert Galbraith is a British novelist, philanthropist, film producer, television producer and screenwriter, best known for writing the Harry Potter fantasy series. The book have won multiple awards, and sold more than 500 million copies, been translated into 77 languages becoming the best-selling book series in history. They have also been the basis for a film series, over which Rowling had overall approval on the scripts and was a producer on the final films in the series.She was appointed Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour (CH) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to literature and philanthropy. A PARADIGMATIC SHIFT IN ELT: EMPOWERMENT OF THE ENGLISH CLASS ROOM

Abstract

English Language has taken a new shape in an unprecedented way.The interesting feature is the growing phenomenon of English as a global language and has been an international language since 19th century. As English educators, our goal is to equip students with knowledge of global literacy and critical awareness. At present, there is not one English, but the plethora of world English, which may vary according to culture and nation.In order to empower English in the class room, it is the heart and soul responsibility of the teacher to make the students more challenging, competent, thoughtful and good communicators by making simple changes in literacy curricula that traditionally view knowledge is text based and individualized. A variety of tasks are based on information and opinion sharing activities are to be supplied to the students to help them to get empowered, so that they become better thinkers.The syllabus must be changed to make English in the classroom more skill based and learner centered than teacher centered. The syllabus should be evolved than following the same traditional syllabus that has been following since decades, which is based on rote memorization. There should be an overall change in the classroom teaching to empower English by using different types of equipment that are available such as authentic aids and non-authentic aids.
