Abstract

This examination expects to survey and researches the job and capacity of humour in Ahmed Matar\'s verse pragma-elaborately. Besides, it endeavors to distinguish the ways andstrategies in which he utilizes humor adversely. As it were, he utilizes techniques of humor or kidding so as tomock the socio-political circumstance on account of Iraq. In this manner, hecreates worthiness and compassion with respect to the crowd. The focal point of this study is worried about verbal joke, which is created by methods for language or text. Also, the examination hypothesizes that there is no unmistakable cut among humor types classifications that is the classes may exchange and converge in a couple of cases. Of the elaborate figures introduced in this examination is mockery,irony, embellishment, correlation, and mockery.

Abstract

India, the ancient land known as the torchbearer of peace, spirituality and humanism became testimony to one of the ghastliest and flabbergasting acts ever committed in the history of mankind. Her own offspring who had lived as a single unit were suddenly bifurcated on communal lines due to political vendetta. Many authors have incorporated the suffereings during the partition. Bapsi Sidhwa has distinguished signature in the arena of English literature who has published novels based on the theme of partition. She has portrayed the distressing picture of that time making the reader to feel the pain of humanity. Thus the present paper focuses upon the literature of partition with special reference to the strain and stress in the writing of and Bapsi Sidhwa.

LANGUAGE LEARNING STRATEGY AN OVERVIEW

Abstract

Language learning strategy, a crucial variable of individual differences in second language acquisition (SLA), has been a fiercely discussed topic since 1970s, attracting a large number of researchers and teachers who have already made great achievements. This article aims to conduct a small-scale review of studies concerning language learning strategy, finding that studies in this respect were done mainly from perspectives of definition, identification and classification, usage and assessment and instruction of language learning strategy, and factors which exert influences on it. It is plausible to say that research on this issue is comparatively comprehensive, appreciating wide coverage and great achievements, but certain points are still in controversy. Subsequently, implications for further research and pedagogy in terms of language learning strategy are discussed.
