Collection Building is a very imported function of a library which should be given for the most careful attention . ENHANCING THE LEARNING SKILLS THROUGH STUDY PROJECTS IN ENGINEERING COLLEGES

Abstract

Gone are the days when teaching was confined to Black boards and learning was lingering between the four walls of a class room. The best practices of teaching pedagogy developed in the age of internet have harnessed the learning process of students with innumerable academic attributes, of which study projects occupies a paramount position. The initial stage of academic reforms have occasioned only Engineering students to undertake project work to meet their curricular requirements and gradually attributed to the curricular aspects of conventional sciences and humanities. The contemporary practices like choice Based Credit System and college autonomy have given liberty to higher education institutions to accord credits to study projects and made them an impeccable portion of teaching, learning and evaluation process with holistic intention of creating practical exposure to students. But, the moment, study projects have become part of the curriculum, they were also started fading with the inherent limitations which traditional syllabi had been encountering from the beginning, such as submission of counterfeit projects, missing element of research in the projects and drafting study projects only to meet the mandatory requirements of the curriculum. This situation obviously questions whether, study projects are capable of enhancing the learning skills of students or suffering with the dogmatism of other curricular parameters. This question can be answered with robustness only after conducting an empirical research on the nexus between study projects and learning skills. It is the prime reason why a paper titled “Role of Study Projects in Augmenting the Learning Skills of Students” is brought to fore with the twin objectives of understanding the emerging trends of study projects in higher education institutes and evaluating the perceptions of teachers on study projects. REGIONALIZATION, DIVERSIFICATION AND HETEROGENEITY: UNDERSTANDING THE LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL LOGICS OF INDIAN NEW MEDIA

Abstract

In this article, I foreground the granular movements that determine the ubiquitous nature of India’s new media economy created by the advent of streaming media platforms and the emergence of regional online content creators in India. I argue that the increasing preference of Indian audiences to consume online content in their own language has led to a demand for ‘regional’ content, whereby streaming platforms and online creators are increasingly investing in ‘non-Hindi’ and ‘non-English’ language content to cater to the linguistically and culturally diverse Indian population. Through a primary focus on online content creation practices in Bengali and Marathi languages, the article explores their ‘local’, ‘regional’, ‘transnational’ and ‘global’ appeal, and subsequent blurring of boundaries between ‘regionalization’ and ‘localization’. The remainder of the article focuses on the emerging diaspora of regional online content creators who are adopting distinct content strategies to develop relationships with online communities based on commonalities of language and culture

THE OUTCOME OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract

A student\'s comprehensive, well-rounded education curriculum should include quality, everyday physical education as a way to both improve their long-term health and wellbeing. The ideal physical education curriculum will encourage a lifelong dedication to exercise as a component of a healthy lifestyle. In the end, enhanced coordinated school health initiatives, of which physical education is a key component, will support other prevention initiatives and aid in the reversal of the growing epidemic of childhood obesity that threatens to undo decades of advancement in the fight against cardiovascular disease. Children who receive effective interventions today will be spared a lifetime of chronic illness and incapacity. The children\' motor abilities and hand-eye coordination are developed through physical education. Students that are physically well perform even better in the classroom. During class, this circulation results in a longer attention span, enabling more concentration and assimilation. Students perform at their highest levels because they have the self-control and commitment necessary to succeed in sports. Students are introduced to various sports activities in the physical education curriculum at school, giving them the option to decide which sports they want to participate in. This essay attempts to shed light on the advantages of physical education programmes for students enrolled in educational institutions. Additionally, it offers suggestions for new laws or regulations aimed at raising the standard of physical education.
