COMMUNICATIVE CHALLENGES FACED BY ENGINEERING STUDENTS – A DIAGNOSTIC STUDY
Engineering is one of the largest fields of study in the world. Most of the research works, articles and papers are recorded in English. The English language is the Lingua Franca of aviation, expertise and international business. The writer experienced that while teaching in engineering college, students coming from rural areas and vernacular medium backgrounds face lot of difficulties during placements. Communicative skills are required for an engineer who aspires to prosper in the global arena. The students, though technically outstanding, find themselves incompetent for jobs because of their lack of proficiency in all the four skills namely reading, writing, listening and speaking. This not only affects their prospective and bright career but also diminishes their image as an engineer. This paper henceforth focuses on the apprehensions and problems faced by the students while learning English. This study is of great prominence to help the students develop effective communication skills.

EDUCATION AT CROSSROADS: CHALLENGES FACED BY HEADS OF THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (SCHOOLS)
This paper highlights the various challenges faced by the Heads of educational institutions. It puts light on the main challenges faced by the heads of the institutions. Globalization and advancements in the social, technological, economic and political landscape make it imperative for us to acquire new ways of thinking and develop new concepts of perceiving realities. In the field of education the changes are very fast. Therefore to keep pace with the fast changing scenario the heads of the educational institutions need to be very alert and updated. The most important challenges faced by the heads of educational institutions are first execution of the curriculum, secondly managing skills of teaching staff and continuously updating the same to make them capable of handling students in today’s age and lastly the students who are the future of tomorrow.
This paper discusses the various strategies used by the head of the educational institutions to overcome above mentioned challenges and potentially convert them into opportunities. This paper is also an attempt to draw the reader’s attention to the factors both internal and external that are currently acting as a deterrent to the facilitation of a good quality education system.
The study further points out to the high pressure, large expectations and difficult challenges that characterize the job of a Head of an educational institution, yet they face these situations and find innovative solutions to address these issues. Thus it is necessary to provide them with the freedom and support so that they achieve wonders in the field of education.
Educational Institutions or Schools are the foundation for the education system to transfer knowledge and transform the student into a responsible citizen of our nation. But the bigger challenge is to make teaching and learning effective in such a manner that it creates a strong foundation for students to build and bring about a positive impact on the society at large. The responsibility of bringing this great change lies with the leader, as head of the educational institution he needs to be the bridge that minimizes the gap between teaching methodologies and student learning effectiveness.

The feeling of writer for writing literature emerges from outside, surrounding world of things. In the dominant established Marathi Literature, the opposite feelings is not found between inner sensitivity of writer and surrounding area. On the contrarily the writer who are outside of this range feels that the prevailing and widespread social condition is nothing but exploitation, injustice and depriving us from opportunities of treatment as human being such condition keeps the people outside the skirts of town. Farmers, who gives us food are kept away daily from their own right of food and consumption of food. They go without food, though they are urban or village people, such condition keep these people away and exploit enough to the labour class and they don’t have culture ridness. They are deprived of such facilities.

Partition remains inerasable in the minds of the people of the Sub-continent due to its adverse effects on them. The love for the Nation and the struggle for the freedom gradually taken a shape of communal fury destroying innocent people and marginalized class of the society. Women and children were the worst sufferers of the tragedy. Shops and houses were looted and burnt and made millions of people refugees.
Partition of the Sub-continent whirled many young writers’ minds for penning down their experiences and in explaining the prevalent situation of the country. Writers chose brave characters in their writings to express their agony and pain. They tried to show that there were no winners in the communal holocausts of Partition.

TO ANALYSE THE IMPACT OF ACHIEVEMENT OF GOAL AS A FACTOR OF MOTIVATION ON HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT
Achievement of goal plays an significant role in determining the influence over the motivation. The researcher conducted a survey on the 500 higher secondary school students by using self-made standardized questionnaire tool. It was observed that the students are more focused and motivated in achieving their goals when they get self-confidence and the appreciation for their work.
TO ANALYZE THE IMPACT OF NURTURING PATTERN OF PARENTS AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT WITH RESPECT TO DIET OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Diet is an important factor in child growth, which further effects on each factor of child. The researcher has selected 500 students of secondary school to analyze the impact of nurturing pattern of parent and child development by self-made standardized questionnaire tools. It was observed that balanced diet is more affected factor in child development, in nurturing pattern of parents of secondary school students.

It is a globally accepted fact that Diaspora writers set a trend since the Independence. Diaspora literature irrespective of language, style, literary form and technique attract the readers crossing the borders. It may be stream of consciousness or magic realism or immigrancy or alienation or adaptability of a new land and culture. But nostalgia is alike for all Diaspora writers. The right to education is an essential tool for the overall development of society as well as nation. Education can promote understanding, tolerance, respect and friendship between peoples, ethical or religious groups and can help make a universal culture of human rights. In this article researcher is analyze the constitutional provisions, statutory enactment as well as international scenario on the right to education. The right to education which aimed to protect and advance the ideas of freedom, equality, fraternity among the citizens. Principles of the right to education was included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and national constitutions and various international and national instruments charge states with the obligation to respect, protect and fulfill all the rights to education because the fundamental right to education entitles all individuals to provide appropriate forms of behavior from their respective governments.

INTELLIGENT QUOTIENT (IQ) AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF 9th GRADE STUDENTS OF CBSE, ICSE AND SSC BOARD STUDENTS IN THANE CITY – AN ANALYTICAL STUDY
The investigator has undertaken the present study to analyze the Intelligence Quotient and Academic achievement of 9th grade students of CBSE, ICSE and SSC students in Thane city. The sample comprised of 700 students (CBSE, ICSE & SSC). Data for the study were collected using Dr. G. C. Ahuja’s Group Test of Intelligence. Students today have a lot of potential and are intelligent enough to understand upcoming technologies and access to a lot of information and knowledge to share. But due to lackadaisical attitude among children, there is sharp fall in learning outcomes and academic levels. So the study was carried out with an attempt to find out how a particular Board’s IQ level and Academic achievement is differentiable from one another. For analyzing data‘t’ test and Pearson’s Product moment co-efficient were the statistical technique used. Findings shows that, while comparing the IQ scores of different Boards, the maximum number of students from CBSC Board -74.8% and ICSE Board 84% has been found with normal or average IQ. Whereas the maximum number of SSC Board Students has been found low average IQ-54.8%. No Board has been found very superior whereas less percentage of the students was found mentally defective for all Boards. There is significant difference between IQ and Academic Achievement of different Board Students of Secondary School.

Every parent thinks that their child should become ahighly paid professional like a Doctor or an Engineer, so parents are more concern about child’s studies and academic success only.Some parents already decide their child’s career without knowing their child’swish and area of interest. Parents always think that my child should score good in their exams, so parents send their child to many coaching classes and puts an extra burden of over expectations.The researcher has selected 500 students of secondary school to analyze the impact of nurturing pattern of parent and child development by self-made standardized questionnaire tools. It was observed that proper guidance is helpful in child’s development in nurturing pattern of secondary school students.
THE IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL SOCIALIZATION SKILLS OF PRINCIPALS ON THE ACTUALIZATION OF CHAVARA EDUCATIONAL VISION IN CMC SCHOOLS
This paper is an investigation to expose the impact of Organisational Socialisation skills of principals on the actualization of Educational vision of St.Chavara in CMC (Congregation of the Mother of Carmel) Schools.
As CMC congregation plays a significant role in the educational field of Indian Society by following the educational vision of their founder father St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara, it is worthwhile to investigate the impact of Organisational socialisation skills of the leaders on the actualization of this vision in these institutions. A survey method was used in the study to collect the data from the teachers of the CMC schools. Organizational Socialization Inventory (OSI) the standardised questionnaire invented by Robert J. Taormina in 1994 and Chavara Educational Vision Actualization questionnaire (CEVAQ) designed by the investigator were used to evaluate the principals by the teachers. This study is an attempt to reveal the Organizational Socialization skills of CMC school principals and the Actualization of Chavara vision in their schools. The result of the study proved that the school principals have an average organisational socialisation skill and they have to improve the skills through various programs such as seminars training programs and workshops. The actualization of the educational vision in the schools is depending very much on the organisational skills of the principals. So the enhancement of the skills of the principals is very significant. This study is very relevant as it gives a clear responsiveness about the organisational skills and its impact on the fulfilment of the educational vision of St. Chavara.
IMPORTANCE OF READING AND WRITING FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN THEIR TECHNICAL JOURNEY
English being a universal language, communicating in English is very much essential for those who wish to excel and grow professionally and academically. Communication skills are more essential these days amidst the phenomenal developments in science and technology. For engineering students, it is a need to master communication skills because they are responsible for the continuous growth and advancement of a society and nation at large, technically. Although the major tasks performed by engineers are technical in nature, their accomplishment depends extremely on the effectiveness with which they assimilate or disseminate technical information. Thus an engineer should be excellent in both reading and writing skills. Reading is vital because an engineer has to read a variety of texts – it may be a short e-mail, a voluminous book or a lengthy report. Similarly the purpose of any professional writing is to communicate specific ideas through clarity, understanding and right usage of words. A person who possesses profiency in reading automatically becomes a prolific writer.
ENHANCING COMMUNICATION SKILL FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
There is a need to make the High school students especially at the tertiary level aware of their emotional/social/multiple intelligences. It is mandatory to look at how this could be ingrained into their lessons so that they have a wonderful learning experience. Soft skills is become a compulsory subject in today’s world. It suggests practical activities that can make the teaching of soft skills more interesting and meaningful..
